Florentine and the Basic Soul Pour ceux qui ne le connaissent pas encore MG Florentine est le leader, chanteur et guitariste lead du groupe « The Basic Soul. ». Souvent confondue avec celle des fils du grand Bob Marley, sa voix est pourtant reconnaissable parmi tant d'autres. Il possède un flow unique et mystique et compte sans aucun doute parmi les chanteurs les plus charismatiques de la scène reggae européenne. M.G. Florentine naît dans une famille de musiciens à Victoria Mahé, Seychelles. Il apprend la guitare à l’âge de douze ans et étudie la trompette durant trois ans. C'est dans les année 90 qu'il s’embarque pour l’Europe, il passera 5 années à Milan Italie, où il participera à des animations de télévision et tournera aux côtés des Freedom Fighters. Il participera également à un « Tribute to Bob Marley tour » aux côtés de Ziggy Marley & The Wailers Jimmy Cliff et bien d’autres. C'est dans les année 2000 qu'il rejoint la Suisse où il étudiera la composition à la Music Academy de Basel. Fort de la maîtrise de cinq langues, M.G a donné de nombreux concerts a travers l'Europe et participé à différents projets d'albums. Il coproduit un album en Hollande, « Along the Way » en 2000 avec le groupe 1001 Ways ; en 2002 l’album « My Resistance « chez Aldabra prod; et « Come on people » produit en 2007. En 2007 MG forme The Basic Soul, basé à Basel le band est composé d’un mélange de musiciens d'origines variées : Michaël "MG" Florentine: Lead vocal & guitar, Seychelles. Julien "Giulian" Soder : Bass & backing vocals, France. Florian "Flo" Bartholomé : Drums, France. Rebekka Breisacher : Backing vocals & keyboards, Allemagne.
