Born from a meeting between Johnny King, a singer of Congo-Brazzavillian origins and Askaar Crew, a collective of musicians based in the Fribourg area, the band got together for their first rehearsals in December 2003. Then, from January 2004 they began their live performances. The musicians enthusiastically interpret and arrange Johnny King’s compositions, a young singer-songwriter full of punch and talent. After numerous live appearances between January and July 2004, the band decide to take the time to settle into recording their first album. From August until October 2004 the Musicians take on the task and produce “Babylon Invasion”, containing 16 songs. The CD was duly released in February 2005.
