He started drumming very early in life... with his mums pots and pans...
Aged 17 he hit the road toward Morocco with a couple of drumsticks and came back with a darbuka.
His love for drum beats and his thirst for adventure then got him on a train to West Africa with a drum kit... In Burkina Faso it was traded for djembes...
Alternate life styles, cultures, and music have taken him over the 5 inhabited continents.
Daniel Symons has spent over seven years "on the road" where he gained considerable amounts of musical experience, collected many instruments and quite a soundbank as he travelled most places with a digital tape recorder.
He then settled down (a bit) in Switzerland to learn the skills of sound engineering which has resulted in lots of musical creations.
Wanting to share his abundant creativity with the rest of the world he decided to create a record label... Elestial Records was born...
His mystical nature and deep feeling that "there's much more to reality than we can see" led him to explore different states of consciousness with shamans and medicine men/women from many different parts of the world.
He has helped others experience such states and cure themselves by musically accompanying healing ceremonies and rituals (firewalks, trance dances, sweatlodges, etc..).
It has also lead him to spend lots of time in nature where much of his creative inspiration comes from.
Daniel Symons has played and written music with artists from all over the world and has performed more than a thousand live gigs in over 30 different countries:
Outback Eclipse, Soulclipse, Boom, TranceKarma, Quest for Goa, Rainbow Serpent, Synergy Project (I.D.Spiral, Turaya), Exodus, Zoom, Morocco 2001, Mystery of Eleusis, Psyberpunk, Temple of Light, The MicroCosm (Alex Greys Museum), Paleo, Biolive, FrakaSound, Life Festival, Wickerman, Glade, Waveform, Tribe of Frog, Universo Paralello and many more...
His first solo album "Druids Brew" is a potion made of the many influences he was blessed with throughout his traveling through space, time and beyond and features guests from around the globe.
Dan is also involved writing, recording, mixing and performing with The Peaking Goddess Collective. Their first album is called “Organika” and is released by Peak Records.
He took part in the final mixing of Pearce Van Der Merwe album "Flooting Grooves - Upsyde Downe" (Peak Records).
And together they created “Cosmosophy-Organic Space Age”(Elestial Records).
He has also released various tracks on internationally acclaimed compilations and performs occasionally as a dj.
And now writing, producing and performing with the promising reggae band Gaïanima.
