Conrad Sargeant aka Lion Face was born on February 17th 1968 in Trench Town/ Kingston, Jamaica. He growed up in a Rasta-Family.
Both, his mother and father were members of the Twelve Tribes of Israel. As a youth, Rastafarians inspired him with a seriousness and truthfullness towards his people.
Chanting and the beating of drums has allways fascinated the Artist. In his early days, he loved to sing back Tunes from Jakob Miller, Peter Tosh, Bob Marley or the I-Trees together with his parents.
He attended the St. Richard´s Primary Scholl, where he was a member of the boys choir.
After that he attended Meadowbrook High-School, however he left school during his third form year due to financial difficulties.
That was the time, when he learned the art of Dancehall-Music.
He started with the name „Little Jack“, but due to the growing of his locks and his look, a lot of people said: „You look like a real Lion, iya!!!“ Consequently it was the girls who started calling him „Lion Face“. The „Roar of a Lion“ soon became his energetic trademark!
1987 he recorded his first Tunes at „Cell-Block“-Studio. Some of these tunes were entitled „Buss a Sweat“, „Bush Fire“ or „Three Chalice“. All these tunes where never released in Jamaica, only overseas in the american market. For that Reason Lion Face allways stayed on the stage of an Underground-DJ, with full acceptance and respect from all known jamaican Entertainers!!!
In 1995 he got the chance to perform on Jamaicans Greatest Stageshow, the Sting-Show. Allongside the „Bandulero“ Pinchers they mashed up the show!
Several Articels in „X-News“, „The Star“ and the „Jamaican Observer“ can proof the exellent performance that night.
The amount of shows that he has performed on after Sting are countless.
Lion Face is a DJ who is able to bust the place with all accounts. Other shows that has to be announced are the „Reggae-Bash“ 1996, the „Tired to See mi Face“-Show in 9 Miles 2002 and the Rebel Salute in 2003.
Between 1997 and the present day Lion Face has recorded a huge amount of 7 Inches. His most outstanding Tunes are „Lion Face“ , „Poor People Cry“, „Go Round Dem“ with Junior Kelly and „Eastern Region“ with Norris Man
In 2005 he recorded a Tune for „The Scrucialists“ from Switzerland called „Rise Up“. For this year Lion Face is expected to have several new 7 Inches with different producers to be released.
For 2006 the Artist is looking forward to realease his first Album, which of course has to be entitled „Rrrrrrrrrr“, his outstanding „Lion Roar“-Trademark!
