The Swiss group Herbalist Crew released their new album, Vert Guérilla! After Herbalizm and the title "C'est Nous", the new album announced a major artistic turning point in their musical evolution.
From church choir as 6 year old Stefano Raschi to the today Cookie-The-Herbalist, Stand Tall is the second album but not it's 2nd release, since 2008 Cookie collaborate with various artists.
Weedy G. Family are three reggae lovers from Männedorf, a town by the lake of Zurich. In various projects, Mr. Bandito, B-High Selecta and Weedy Gonzales spread their love for the offbeat.
Under the name of Weedy G. Productions the three and their friends organise reggae parties in the Zurich area. In 2004, they brought the legendary Caveman Soundsystem from Jamaica to the Kaserne in Zurich, where, a year later, they also organised the 45 shootout at Skarra Mucci’s birthday bash, which was won by the Baddis Crew from Lucerne.
Bandito and B-High are also known as Weedy G. Soundforce, regularly demonstrating their skills at the turntables, for instance, every Thursday night at the Soulside, Mr. Bandito’s bar in Männedorf. In late 2005, Weedy G. Family released their first recording. The “Spectacular Riddim”, composed by sound engineer Bandito and sung by Cali P and Skarra Mucci, was recorded at the Jahdou Studio in co-operation with Jahdouproduction. Since Weedy G. Productions and Jahdouproduction worked very well as a team, their next riddim is already in the making.
Weedy G. Family est un label très actif de la rive droite Zurichoise, qui s’est prescrite au Reggae.
Ils entretiennent un bar au nom de « Soulside » à Männedorf, lequel se réjouit de plus en plus d’appréciation. Ceci aussi grâce à leur propre Soundsystem Reggae, qui chauffe le local tous les jeudis avec une ambiance caribéenne.
Les week-ends, ils sont réservés la plupart du temps pour faire bouillir d’autres évènements. Ils organisent des soirées et des concerts régulièrement à Zurich et dans sa région. Un des grands moments était sûrement le concert de Cali P. et Caveman, le Soundsystem légendaire de la Jamaïque, ou le « Birthday Bash » de Skarra Mucci à la caserne de Zurich.
Weedy G. family, das sind Mr. Bandito, B-High Selecta und Weedy Gonzales, drei Reggae Lovers aus Männedorf am rechten Zürichseeufer. In diversen Projekten leben sie ihre Liebe zum Off-Beat aus.
Als Weedy G. production organisiert das Trio zusammen mit Freunden Reggae Partys in und um Zürich. So holten sie 2004 das legendären Caveman Soundsystem aus Jamaika in die Kaserne Zürich oder organisierten 2005 an gleicher Stätte den 45er Shootout an Skarra Mucci’s Birthday Bash, den die Baddis Crew aus Luzern gewann.
Unter dem Namen Weedy G. Soundforce stellen Bandito und B-High regelmässig ihre Skills an den Turntables unter Beweis. So unter anderem, jeden Donnerstag Abend in Mr. Banditos Bar, dem Soulside in Männedorf.
Gegen Ende 2005 ist nun die erste Eigenproduktion der Weedy G family erschienen. Der Spectacular Riddim, komponiert von Soundtüftler Bandito und besungen von Cali P sowie Skarra Mucci, wurde im Jahdou Studio in Zusammenarbeit mit Jahdouproduction aufgenommen. Da die Zusammenarbeit zwischen Weedy G. prod. und Jahdouprod. sehr gut harmonierte, wird bereits am nächsten Riddim gebastelt. Man darf gespannt sein…
