Born in the beautiful parish of St. Mary, Jamaica on December 2nd , with maximum fifteen (15) years experience in the music industry, came the birth of “Geoffrey Star” Forrest. This smooth tenor offspring is the son of “Ranchie” McLean renowned bass player and Norma Allen a church choir member. It was evident from his father’s conception, which was realized through music that Geoffrey would be in the music business.
Geoffrey Star formally known as “Rich Kid” started to show his talent at the age of thirteen (13) years, doing school concerts and private functions.
Geoffrey attended Half Way Tree Primary and Meadow Brook High School and dreamt of becoming an international super star. He started playing a popular sound system, Silver Hawk, owned by producer Steelie from Steelie and Clevie fame. During that time Geoffrey alongside classmate Troy Wilson, drummer for DJ Bounty Killer, Wallace “Red Rat” Wilson, Robert Browne bass player for Reggae Superstar Shaggy and Richard Browne popularly known as Shams, came together to form a band called “POSITIVE CREW”. Being the lead vocalist in the band gave him the opportunity to expand his melodious tenor to the highest peak.
In the year of 1987, Geoffrey did his first single, a cover version of air Supply’s “ALL OUT OF LOVE”, produced by David Madden, which introduced him to the recording buying market.
In 1992, Geoffrey was introduced to Christopher “Grammy” Meredith, bass player for Ziggy Marley and the Melody Makers. More opportunities came for Geoffrey when he started to do engineering. He recorded some of Jamaica’s most popular reggae artist such as Dennis Brown, John Holt, Bunny Wailer and Bunny Ruggs to name a few. Since then he met singer, songwriter, musician and producer Michael “Mikey Spice” Johnson, and did songs like: “I DON’T KNOW” featuring Niki Burt and “I’VE GOT HEAVEN” on the Ingredience label. These songs showcased his melodious sound and attest to his writing ability. His versatility is exemplified with his combination with Shabba Ranks, “CONSIGNMENT” remix and Jahmel in “MASTERBUILDER”.
Geoffrey did a number of harmonies both in studio and on stage for popular reggae artiste like: Bunny Wailer, Marcia Griffiths Mikey Spice, Burning Spear Glen Washington and Bunny Ruggs to name a few.
Geoffrey became one of the finalists in the Jamaica Cultural Development Cooperation (JCDC) Festival song competition in 1998, with his entry song “ROAD RUNNINGS”.
Caribbean Music Expo (CME) 2002 gave Geoffrey Star the opportunity to broaden his horizon as an international performer and recording artiste. He was one of the twelve (12) finalists. That same year Geoffrey went touring Europe with Mighty Diamonds Wayne Wonder Fred Locks and Lady Saw. During that time transformation would occur when he did a single with Brinzley Forde of Aswad, song entitled “ARE YOU THINKING WHAT I’M THINKING” produced by Brinzley’s son Germaine Forde.
His latest release are songs entitle “IM SORRY”, (DROP LEAF rhythm), “PICTURE ME AND YOU” (SEASONS rhythm), both produced by Don Corleon. He is presently in studio working on the remix of “I’M SORRY” which will feature Jamaica female dj Cecile.

With the emergence of “Geoffrey Star”, his aspirations are to capture the hearts and souls of his listeners to righteousness.
